AMATEUR sex tapes are credited with stealing customers from pornographers, but the wealth of inadvertently leaked material may be about to run dry.
Co-author of Australian study The Porn Report, Dr Kath Albury, said people would become much more wary of what they let out of the bedroom after seeing the possible ramifications.
"The technology has probably gotten ahead of us here and the penny hasn't dropped yet for a lot of people posting this material yet," Dr Albury said.
"But they will come to realise there is still a lot of stigma attached to it.
"You and your friends may not have a problem with it but your parents or your employers could and once the image is out there you can't get it back."
